CRAFT | Engineering Studio
350 Albany St., Ste. 15D
New York, NY 10280
Mr. Stanton is currently the Principal of CRAFT | Engineering Studio located in Manhattan. In the spring of 2010, he founded Craft to more effectively address the desire among architects for an engineering consultant that is progressive and forward thinking but operates on a scale that engenders creativity and collaboration between disciplines. Craft is a boutique engineering consultancy that is set up as a studio to foster innovation and exploration within the field of structural engineering in order to more effectively impact and excite the field of architecture.
This pursuit builds on 17 years of experience in non-standard structural engineering consulting for projects with geometrical, analytical and material complexity. Most recently, Mr. Stanton led the Special Projects group within the New York office of Buro Happold Consulting Engineers. In this role, Mr. Stanton led many significant projects including the World Trade Center VOEC main Atrium and Tridents, the Phoenix Civic Space Sculpture “Her Secret is Patience”, the New Amsterdam Pavilion, the West Thames Street Bridge and the Israel Antiquities Authority’s Tensile Canopies. In addition to practice, Mr. Stanton has lectured at the University of Michigan, the Product Architecture Lab within the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Steven’s Institute of Technology and the Graduate Architecture Program at the Pratt Institute.
